NEW! Configuration Manager 2012 Integration
Microsoft has announced it will be releasing System Center Configuration Manager 2012, which will enable native Exchange ActiveSync policies for iOS, Windows Phone 7, and Android to be specified and deployed from the Configuration Manager console. Athena will augment Configuration Manager’s native device management support with premium features for robust, over-the-air management for enterprise deployments using iOS, Android, BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, and Windows Embedded CE devices.
ATHENA FOR CONFIGURATION MANAGER ARCHITECTURE
Athena for Configuration Manager consists of:
• On-device Athena agents that provide management functions for Windows Mobile, iOS (iPhone/iPad), Android, and BlackBerry smartphones as well as Windows Embedded CE devices.
• Management console extensions that allow Athena-enabled device management capabilities to appear in the native Configuration Manager Administrator console and supplement the scalability, security, and reliability of the platform. Navigation is similar to the Configuration Manger user interface, minimizing training needed to start using Athena.
• Athena Tunnel Service is a client-initiated SSL tunnel with 2-way certificate-based authentication, providing a secure path to connect to a mobile device and establish a live remote session, including a session across inherently private network connections such as GSM.
• PowerShell extensions from Configuration Manager 2007 to Exchange 2007 or 2010, enabling core device management functions for Exchange ActiveSync-enabled mobile devices platforms.
